Confidence and Optimism

Updated: Sep 21, 2021

Confidence and optimism are finally returning ...

at least in our latitudes.

Many of us have already been vaccinated or will soon be vaccinated. That brings a big relief for all of us.

A lot of things return to our everyday life that we have been denied for a long time.

Slowly we can see the famous light at the end of the tunnel and we are finally looking forward to participating again in things that are fun and allow interacting with other people again.

So optimism about our future is growing again and that's a good thing and it's necessary, because pessimism is unhealthy:

“The harmful effects of chronic pessimism is as difficult to cope with as consuming 2.5 packs of cigarettes a day.

... Studies by the Department of Psychotherapy and Biopsychosocial Health at Danube University Krems in Austria showed in 2020 that the psychological symptoms for depression, anxiety or sleep problems increased to 3 - 5 times the values before the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2. These developments go hand in hand with falling numbers of optimism ...

…Pessimism is now listed as a serious risk factor for cardiovascular diseases in scientific publications.

....Optimists tend to treat themselves well like sporting activities and conscious nutrition

and both have a positive effect on the mental and body health..... "

(Josef Puschitz - Health Magazine Wissen, Austria)

So anyone who has been pessimistic due to the pandemic can breathe a sigh of relief, as we now have more opportunities to be optimistic again.

Take care and smile,

Katrin
